SHHOA - Architectural Improvement Form
("SHHA") requires that exterior home improvements be pre-approved by the Architectural Control Committee. Made up of fellow residents, the committee is dedicated to preserving the value, character and attractiveness of our neighborhood through adhering to the intent and interpretation of the SHHA Protective Covenants and By-Laws. This form is designed to streamline the proposal and approval process. Although the protective covenants allow up to 30 days for the committee to review each proposal, the average time is two weeks from the date of submission. Depending on the type of project, The City of Greenwood Village may have additional requirements. Obtaining building permits, inspections, drainage reports and locating property lines, easements, utility cables and the like are the responsibility of the homeowner. It is recommended that you read and understand the covenants before planning your project. Delays can result from incomplete forms or unclear descriptions. To make it easier, include manufacturer's brochures or illustrations, especially when pre-fabricated buildings, decks, awnings, windows, doors, sheds, spas, playground equipment, roofs, siding, or similar items are being proposed. Paint swatches or photos of projects similar to yours are also helpful. For more complicated renovations, site plans, building specs, blue prints, elevation drawings and contractor referrals will expedite the process.
